EMS: Not Just a Ride to the Hospital

Several weeks ago, I accepted an assignment from A&E to write about Emergency Medical Service (EMS) practitioners, as part of National EMS Week. Before I got this assignment, I had never watched Nightwatch. And when I started reaching out to paramedics around the country for "6 Things EMS Squads Want the World to Know," I had no idea how much I would learn. (Hint: Way more than six things.) These individuals are true heroes, and have some amazing stories to tell. So if you know an Emergency Medical Service practitioner (this includes EMTs and paramedics), thank them.
